Are there any instructions for packing dangerous goods?

To pack dangerous goods correctly, you must:

  • use reinforced packaging when sending items with sharp edges,
  • use an outer box that is strong enough to hold the weight of the contents,
  • write “FRAGILE” (fragile) or “PERISSABLE” (perishable) where appropriate,
  • clearly indicate the name and address of the sender on the external packaging,
  • wrap fragile objects separately, in bubble wrap or polystyrene with a thickness of at least 5 cm,
  • securely tape up any openings in the packaging,
  • flatten and tape over any sharp staples.
