What to do when your SIM card is blocked?
If you’ve entered the wrong PIN three times, your SIM card will be automatically blocked to protect against fraudulent use.
To unblock your SIM card, you’ll need to enter a security code known as a “PUK code”. It is printed on the card holder (the size of a credit card) provided with your SIM.
If you didn’t keep your PUK code, call 8002 8004 free of charge or +352 2424 8004 from abroad, or visit a POST outlet with a piece of ID.
Only the line holder may make this request. The caller will be asked security questions to confirm his or her identity.
Once you’ve entered your PUK code, your SIM card will be unlocked and you’ll be able to set a new PIN (or keep your old one).
Please note that after 10 incorrect PUK code attempts, the SIM card will be blocked permanently. In this case, you’ll need to swap your SIM card for a new one.
