What are our security and precautionary tips?
Use a complex and long password to secure your WiFi.
- Do not use your name or the name of a family member, as this could easily allow others to identify the SSID (the name of your WiFi).
- If your new WiFi replaces an existing one and you change the WiFi name and password in the HomePass app, you must update the WiFi credentials on all your devices connected to it. So think carefully before making this change.
- If you can change your WiFi encryption method from WPA2 to WPA3, note that WPA3 may not be supported by all devices (especially IoT devices). However, it is always recommended to use the latest security standard, which is WPA3.
To access your Homebox interface, it is highly recommended to use the Plume Home app. After exchanging your Homebox (in case of a breakdown), your settings are saved in the Plume cloud. Your Homebox will then be automatically configured as before.
