Payconiq is in the process of evolving into Wero, a new European payment solution backed by leading European banks.

Paying by smartphone – simple and free

With Wero, you can now pay using your smartphone directly from your current account in Luxembourg, Germany, Belgium, France and the Netherlands!

Send money quickly and securely to all your contacts using their mobile number, directly from your account.

Pay your bills

Scan the QR code and pay your bills in seconds: no need to enter the reference number, amount or payee details.

Pay online or via the apps

Online, there’s no need for a credit card – simply scan the QR code to pay.

Pay in shops

Scan the QR code and pay 100% contact-free in shops or restaurants in Luxembourg, Germany, Belgium, France and the Netherlands by scanning Wero QR codes.

What is Wero?

Wero allows you to continue making payments and transferring money simply, quickly and securely. Whether you’re sending or requesting money, paying online, in-store or settling bills, your usual routine stays the same.

The difference? Wero is designed on a European scale. This means you benefit from a modern payment solution that makes your transactions just as easy in Luxembourg as in other participating countries.

New features will gradually be added to the service to support you with all your payment needs, both now and in the future.

Why is Payconiq becoming Wero?

Payconiq is evolving to become part of a European payment solution backed by major banks and financial institutions.

You will continue to enjoy a simple and secure service, whilst gradually gaining access to new services and features across Europe.

But what does this mean for me?

  • Your current Payconiq account remains unchanged
  • Your relationship with POST Finance remains the same
  • You will continue to be protected by the same high European and national standards for security and data protection
  • The transition will be clear, smooth and transparent

Prepare for the switch to Wero

From the start of the 2026 academic year, Wero will gradually become the gateway for your mobile payments. During this transition period, your routine will remain the same: you’ll still be able to scan Payconiq QR codes and your payments will continue to be processed with ease.

You will be asked to download the Wero app and link your POST Finance account to it. Once the app is activated, you will be able to continue using existing Payconiq QR codes directly via Wero, whilst gradually benefiting from the new services offered by the payment solution.

Wero is the new European digital payment wallet, backed by major European banks and financial institutions, and designed to enable simple, secure and seamless payments across Europe.

For the time being, nothing will change, and we will keep you informed once Wero becomes available. The first change for you is that payments made using Payconiq will be routed via the Wero system, and eventually the Payconiq app will be deactivated. We strongly recommend that you download the Wero app and link your POST Finance account.

Your data and transaction history will remain secure and protected in accordance with the same national and European regulatory and security standards that you benefit from with Payconiq.

For the time being, you can continue to use Payconiq as normal. You will receive clear instructions from us when the service is officially launched.

Eventually, the Payconiq app will be deactivated. We strongly recommend that you download the Wero app and link your POST Finance account.

Wero is available free of charge in all member countries. Payments to another country cost no more than an instant SEPA payment.
