BSP is moving and becoming more connected with support from POST

BSP is one of Luxembourg’s biggest independent law firms. Specialised in corporate affairs and offering a wide range of services, it employs some 110 people, including 70 lawyers. BSP has 16 partners with a remarkable gender balance: more women than men, which is rare and worth highlighting.

BSP is 10 years old in 2022. This anniversary coincides with another important change, as the firm took the keys to its new premises, moving from Cloche d’Or to Leudelange. BSP’s IT department asked POST to help with its migration. “One issue was to give our new building a fibreoptic connection and ensure that lines would be open in time for the move on 22 July”, said Stefan Igelmund, IT Manager of BSP. “This meant unplugging our computer servers from our old premises before reconnecting them at our new building, making sure in advance that the connection would be ready.”

Guaranteeing service continuity

Due to the confidential nature of legal counsel data, BSP keeps all of its documents and even its emails on servers located within its own infrastructure. The firm uses the Cloud only for very specific services. To guarantee service continuity for staff and customers during the move, it was important to minimise down time. “To do this, we worked closely with POST teams, who were able to install the line very quickly, just before the move”, Stefan continues. “We had the opportunity to test the connection, and check that it met our needs, a week before D day.

A dedicated line

BSP took advantage of this move to become more connected. It subscribed to a dedicated Direct Internet Access line with POST, ensuring a high level of availability and sufficient bandwidth for the business’s needs. “We also opted for a backup line, which automatically takes over if the first line fails”, said the IT Manager. “POST’s advantage over other market participants is that it is the only operator able to connect the building with two lines coming from different directions.” This extra security offers protection against unfortunate disconnections due to roadworks, for example.

Enabling anyone to log in from anywhere

For our staff and customers alike, it is essential that we can guarantee the permanent availability of services”, adds Stefan. “Every employee must be able to access data, over a fast connection, wherever they are. In the last two years, as work from home has become more commonplace due to the health crisis, we have realised the importance of connectivity to make our services resilient. With a guaranteed level of service from POST, we know that we can cope with any situation. Each employee can carry on working away from the office if necessary, and keep helping our customers.

Stronger protection

With a view to making its connections more robust, BSP also signed up to a DDOS attack mitigation service. This automatically blocks any illegitimate traffic intended to swamp the firm’s lines and servers.

POST’s support throughout this project enabled us to complete the move while limiting down time to less than 24 hours. The teams responsible for installing the line had only a fortnight to do so, but still managed to meet our expectations.”

Since then BSP has enjoyed a high level of connectivity. “We can also track the volume of data being transferred over the line though the POST control centre. This application, which also shows usage of mobile plans taken out with POST, lets us adjust the service level according to real needs. This helps us to predict future developments”, Stefan explains.

A competitive service

The benefits of the POST solution above all lie in the strength of the connections and the trust underlying the partnership. According to the IT manager, there is also the matter of competitive pricing. “For a similar price to what we were paying before, we now have access to a much better level of service. Then there is the ease of access to support services, and quality sales assistance. POST’s teams know us, and take the time to understand our challenges to propose solutions that suit our needs.

Useldange: saving water with smart meters

For several years, the municipality of Useldange has been taking on more digital transformation projects. For example, by connecting its citizens’ water meters, it now has the capacity to detect leaks. In this way, residents can avoid any nasty surprises and it is helping to preserve this valuable resource. Beyond that, the municipality views digitisation as a lever for improving its performance in a way that serves citizens.

For ten years now, Clémentine Venck has been the guiding hand behind the growth of the Cocottes brand country-wide, as well as the new GANG foodhall in La Belle Etoile. This dynamic managing director, who has been at the helm of Cocottes since 2017, is passionate about everything to do with food and dining, the ideal opportunity for socialising with friends and family. What drives her? Challenges. And to rise to them, she explains, above all you have to be determined, surround yourself with the right people and the right partners – and POST is proud to be one of these partners –, and be motivated by the desire to do well.
